Potatoes, onions and more.

Onions are full of flavor, but they’re all low in calories and have no cholesterol, sodium or fat. Onions are also a great source of Vitamin C, fiber, Vitamin B6 and potassium. Onions help you maintain a healthy immune system and prevent cataracts, cancer and cardiovascular disease.

When choosing an onion, select one that is dry and firm and avoid those with sprouts or mold. To retain the freshness and flavor of your onions, store them in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place in a mesh bag. Never store onions with potatoes or other fruits and vegetables. You can also store sliced or chopped onions in a plastic container for up to seven days in your refrigerator.

Because each onion has a distinct flavor — and therefore adds unique character to your meals —  Alsum Farms & Produce offers a wide selection of yellow, red, white and sweet onions.
