Friesland, Wisconsin — Alsum Farms & Produce hosted more than 100 runners, walkers and local FFA supporters for the 2nd Annual Tater Trot 5K Run/Walk on October 27, 2018 at Alsum Farms & Produce in Friesland, Wis. In the spirit of the season of giving, the second-year event raised more than $2,000 for Local FFA Chapters. This year’s FFA Chapters to receive the funds include: Markesan, Pardeeville, Randolph Cambria-Friesland and Waupun.

“Alsum Farms & Produce was elated to host the 2nd Annual Tater Trot 5K to help support local FFA Chapters and provide a unique opportunity to learn about the nutritional and economic benefits of Wisconsin Potatoes,” says Alsum’s Nikki Jedlowski, Logistics Manager and Tater Trot 5K Event Coordinator. “Potatoes fuel performance and the Tater Trot 5K promotes the healthy, flavorful and fresh attributes of the spud targeting everyday athletes to perform at their best and fuel their active lifestyle.”

The Kids Fun Run race included a dozen youngsters racing around the parking lot and participates also had the opportunity to meet and get their picture taken with Spudly, the Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Mascot and tour the Wisconsin Spudmobile.

Next Year’s 3rd Annual Alsum Tater Trot 5K will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019.
